Teaching Assistant (Grade C)
to join our supportive and dynamic team for a
temporary one-year role

Upper Key Stage 2
to start with us from

. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and enhancing teaching and learning within the classroom, while also providing support to children on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, both in and outside the classroom.
The ideal candidate will work closely with class teachers, supporting pupils in their learning and personal development, while also assisting in maintaining an engaging and well-organised classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Work under the guidance of teaching and senior staff to deliver learning and care programmes that support pupil development and inclusion.
Provide 1:1 and small group support for children, adapting tasks and approaches to meet their individual needs.
Assist with the delivery of curriculum interventions, particularly in literacy and numeracy.
Support the class teacher with the planning and delivery of engaging and inclusive learning experiences.
Foster a positive, nurturing learning environment that promotes independence, self-esteem, and resilience.
Monitor and report on pupil progress and behaviour, maintaining effective communication with colleagues and families where appropriate.
Promote good behaviour and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils.
Support school activities and routines, including trips, events, and supervision duties.
Essential Skills & Qualities:
Experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting.
A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
Ability to build positive, respectful relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
A flexible and responsive approach to working with pupils of varying needs and abilities.
Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Previous experience supporting children with SEN.
Familiarity with Read Write Inc., Power Maths, or other structured learning programmes.
Experience using strategies to support literacy and numeracy interventions.
Competence in supporting children's emotional and social development.
