We are seeking a passionate and skilled Head Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a keen interest in creating delightful dishes that enhance our restaurant's reputation. The Menu will be mainly based around tacos alongside other bar snacks.
Duties
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with the restaurant's menu and standards.
Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all food safety regulations are followed.
Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste through effective time management.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative environment.
Upsell menu items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
Perform basic maths for portion control, inventory management, and recipe scaling.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or culinary setting.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills.
Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations.
Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating leadership qualities.
Basic maths skills for inventory management and recipe calculations.
A genuine passion for cooking and creating memorable dining experiences.
