Our Alternative Education Setting supports young people aged 11-18 who are unable to meet their potential in mainstream, but thrive with us in every aspect of our extensive curriculum. We work hard to build strong and consistent relationships, and work holistically with our students and their families and/or carers. We are now looking to grow our team by seeking a passionate and dedicated TA or HLTA. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about education and child development to make a positive impact, as well as the opportunity for professional development.

Duties



Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs Support children with autism, anxiety, trauma backgrounds and those requiring a specialised approach. Foster a safe and supportive environment that encourages learning, a spirit of curiosity and social development. Implement personalised learning programmes under the guidance of teaching staff. Support students during activities, breaks, and offer 1:1 sessions if required such as making a hot chocolate or going for a walk. Promote effective communication between students, teachers, and parents where appropriate. Assist in behavioural management and encourage positive behaviour strategies (training is given and routinely updated). Help with organisational tasks such as preparing materials and maintaining a tidy classroom environment.

Experience



Prior experience working with children in educational or care settings is essential. Experience supporting children with autism or special educational needs is advantageous. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, colleagues, and parents. A genuine passion for teaching and supporting children's development is essential. Previous experience in special education environments will be considered a significant asset.

Pay: 24,500.00-29,000.00 per year
