Job Overview: Tail Lift Engineer
The Tail Lift Engineer is responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining tail lifts in compliance with safety and legal standards. The role involves carrying out thorough LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998) inspections and weight tests to ensure lifting equipment's safety, reliability, and compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and comprehensive LOLER inspections on tail lifts to identify wear, damage, or defects.
- Perform weight testing procedures to verify the capacity and safety of tail lifts.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Diagnose mechanical or electrical issues and carry out necessary repairs or escalate as needed.
- Ensure all work adheres to relevant safety standards, legislation, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Liaise with clients to explain inspection findings and advise on necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Keep up-to-date with current industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of inspection and testing procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in mechanical or electrical engineering, particularly with lifting equipment.
- Knowledge of LOLER regulations and industry safety standards.
- Strong troubleshooting and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication skills for client liaison and reporting.
- Ability to read technical manuals and electrical/mechanical schematics.
- Valid relevant certifications or qualifications (e.g., LOLER inspecting qualification, NVQ, or equivalent).
Work Environment:
- Field-based role requiring travel to client sites.
- Work involves physical activity, including lifting and working at heights.
- Use of specialized testing and diagnostic equipment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: 40,735.00-42,663.00 per year
