Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant to join our team in a well established breakfast and lunch takeaway business. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food and hospitality, demonstrating strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth operations within the kitchen and serving areas. The role will be a minimum of 18 hours over 3-4 days.

Duties

Assist in food preparation, ensuring all ingredients are prepped according to safety and quality standards. Support kitchen staff with cooking and prepping food as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and service areas, adhering to food safety regulations. Provide excellent customer service by serving food and beverages promptly and courteously. Engage with customers to enhance their experience through upselling menu items. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours. Perform basic math calculations for order processing and inventory management. Manage time effectively to complete tasks within designated timeframes.

Qualifications

Previous takeaway experience is highly desirable, particularly in a kitchen or serving role. Knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is essential. Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory counts. Strong time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy environment. Experience in food preparation or culinary roles will be an advantage. A friendly disposition with excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with customers positively. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated when required.
