Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Counter Staff member to join our team. This role is ideal for someone aged 18-20 who wants to gain work experience, develop skills, and earn while learning.We offer pay rates appropriate to age, in line with UK law.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing food items, and maintaining a clean and organised work environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food service within a dynamic setting, ensuring customers enjoy a positive experience. Previous restaurant or food service experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Serve customers promptly and courteously at the counter, ensuring a welcoming environment Prepare food items according to established recipes and safety standards Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while maintaining excellent customer service Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area, including sanitising surfaces and equipment Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times Assist in stock replenishment and inventory checks as required Manage multiple tasks effectively during busy periods through good time management skills

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation, restaurant service, or similar roles is desirable but not essential Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and measuring ingredients Experience with serving customers in a fast-paced environment preferred Kitchen or culinary experience is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with food handling procedures Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently during busy shifts Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour to ensure positive customer interactions Ability to work well within a team and adapt to changing priorities
