Duties

Oversee all aspects of food preparation and cooking, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards. Manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to foster a collaborative team environment. Develop and implement menus that showcase seasonal ingredients and innovative culinary techniques. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times. Monitor inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food safety practices, and restaurant policies. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction. Maintain an organised kitchen environment, ensuring equipment is properly maintained and utilised.

Requirements

Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably with restaurant experience. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team effectively. Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and culinary trends. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of food production. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards. Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with both kitchen and front-of-house teams. A passion for cooking and creating exceptional dining experiences for guests.
