We have a newly-created role for a Talent Acquisition Advisor to join the Port of Tilbury, at an exciting time to join our team as we continue to enhance and develop our recruitment strategy across the group.
About The Role
Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and supporting the development and implementation of effective recruitment policies and processes across the Port of Tilbury and the wider group.
This position encompasses both operational and strategic elements of recruitment, with a strong emphasis on data analysis and reporting to drive informed decision-making within the Talent Acquisition and broader HR teams. Your remit will cover the full recruitment lifecycle, including early careers and experienced hires.
You will contribute to the design and execution of attraction strategies, ensuring a positive, engaging candidate experience at every stage. As a key member of the Talent Acquisition team, you will help evolve and enhance our recruitment approach, including the exploration and integration of AI-driven tools and technologies.
A core aspect of the role involves close collaboration with Hiring Managers to gain a deep understanding of their resourcing needs, enabling the creation of tailored recruitment strategies and the successful delivery of effective hiring plans.
Key responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end recruitment activities, including drafting and publishing job advertisements, reviewing applications, conducting screening calls, and ensuring a smooth candidate journey through the recruitment process.
Drive both operational and strategic recruitment initiatives, leveraging data and reporting to inform and improve hiring decisions.
Manage a diverse portfolio of vacancies across operational, office-based, and senior leadership roles, balancing competing priorities effectively.
Partner with Hiring Managers to design and implement tailored recruitment strategies, offering expert guidance on best practices and market insights.
Conduct initial telephone and video interviews, providing comprehensive and constructive candidate feedback to support informed hiring decisions.
Prepare bespoke interview packs and competency-based question sets to support Hiring Managers in conducting effective and consistent in-person interviews.
Coordinate virtual and in-person interview logistics, ensuring timely communication and updates are shared across HR teams and relevant stakeholders.
Work collaboratively with the wider HR team to support the preparation of employment contracts and contribute to seamless onboarding experiences.
Lead in designing and the delivery of recruitment and assessment centres, particularly in support of apprentice and graduate programmes.
Contribute to employer branding initiatives and play an active role in the design and execution of recruitment campaigns, including careers week and outreach events.
Represent the organisation at external events such as careers fairs and engagement sessions with local schools, colleges, and other educational partners.
Play a key role in enhancing the Talent Acquisition function, including exploring the use of AI tools and innovative sourcing methods
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced and self-assured recruitment professional with a collaborative mindset and a proven ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Ideally, you will have experience within a comparable sector, such as Ports, Transport, Logistics, or Supply Chain and will be confident managing a varied and fast-paced workload. Your strengths should include building trusted relationships across all levels of the business and adapting your approach to meet the unique needs of different teams. A key part of this role is delivering a positive, engaging, and seamless candidate experience across a broad spectrum of roles and Hiring Managers.
Skills & Qualifications:
At least 3 years' experience in end-to-end recruitment, ideally within Ports, Transport, Logistics, or Supply Chain sectors however those making a move from agency will also be considered
Ability to manage a diverse and fast-paced recruitment portfolio, from operational to senior leadership roles
Good working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), with the ability to effectively manage the end-to-end recruitment process and generate insightful reports
Strong stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative and consultative approach
Demonstrated experience in designing and executing tailored recruitment strategies
Experienced in preparing interview materials, including competency-based questions and bespoke interview packs
Confident in leading the design and delivery of recruitment days and assessment centres
Passionate about employer branding and skilled in executing recruitment campaigns and outreach events
Innovative mindset with an interest in emerging recruitment tools and sourcing methods, including the use of AI
Full UK working rights and UK driving licence are both essential
