Job Title: Tank Transfer Operative

Hours 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern Sunday to Thursday 14.00 - 22.30 or Monday - Friday 06:00-14:30

Job Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the global Lactalis Group. Culturing milk ingredients, monitoring the fermentation process and transferring yogurt to the Potting teams using computerised SCADA systems whilst working to strict food hygiene and product quality requirements.

Your Tasks

Culturing, monitoring and testing batch tanks during fermentation and releasing to specification.

Perform quality tests at various product stages (including refractometer, pH, temperature, taste, weight, dates and packaging checks).

Monitor and report any non-conformances of product, processes or equipment and escalate to management as required.

To follow written instructions, safety and quality procedures.

Using computer programs, data inputting, record keeping and report writing.

Working effectively and efficiently with multiple departments to achieve a daily plan.

To be able to problem solve with supervisors and develop contingency plans as required.

To develop sufficient understanding of the business to be able to change and communicate the daily production plan as and when required.

Launch the CIP of tanks and transfer lines.

To receive, rotate and store freeze dried culture deliveries.

Carry out weekly and monthly stocktakes.

To be flexible to cover holidays or sickness in a small team.

Skills we need

This is a pivotal position in a fast-moving consumer goods environment. Experience of working under pressure is essential as is the ability to make decisions and communicate effectively. You will need good all-round computer skills, a methodical approach and an eye for detail.
You will be required to taste test dairy products.

Experience of working within a similar role, or food manufacturing facility would be advantageous, although not essential.
