The Double-Barrelled on-site brewery taproom is one of Reading's much loved social hubs, bringing together both the local and passionate beer community, in a welcoming and friendly space.
We are looking for a Taproom General Manager to lead our hard working, passionate and fun-loving taproom team. Joining the small but ambitious team at Double-Barrelled, your focus would be ensuring that every customer that experiences DB in either setting has a standout-experience - through the combination of top-quality beers, excellent service, and an environment welcoming to all.
You'll be tasked with driving forward the revenue and profitability of our taproom, running events worth travelling for, and keeping our team motivated and happy. As a small business, it's all hands-on deck here, so you will most likely will be engaged in other areas of the brewery where required, from our online shop to jumping on the canning line. We are super ambitious and fast paced, with steep growth every year since we launched 6 years ago despite the pandemic, and with no plans to stop!
Why Double-Barrelled?
We are a passionate team and you'll be joining the brewery at an exciting time.
Our brewery taproom has been recognised as one of the best independent taprooms in the UK. We have a great space that we want to utilise to introduce more people into the beer scene, support other local independent businesses and continue to drive the brewery forward.
You'd have the autonomy to lead that experience and create a space that you can be proud of.
Roles and responsibilities
Our Taproom Manager would autonomously run the full P&L of the bar. Our taproom is currently open to the public only 26 hours a week, so this is about ensuring we're busy every hour we're open and capitalising on off-site revenue generation too.

Managing full P&L for the taproom
Autonomous ownership and running of all taproom shifts, working with our assistant manager and supervisors

Ensuring we uphold our exceptional standards of cleanliness in our taproom and cold store in line with our brewery hygiene accreditations
Longer term, our ambition is to grow our direct-to-consumer sales further, either through a potential second site, events or growing our existing outlets; and we'd like our ideal candidate to be confident, looking to develop within their role and willing to work with us in leading this expansion within the next few years.
