A forward-thinking, client-focused accountancy practice is looking to expand its Private Client Tax team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced tax professional to join a supportive and growing team, handling both compliance and advisory work for a diverse portfolio of private clients, including high net worth individuals, non-residents, and trustees.

The firm is open to recruiting either a Tax Assistant Manager or a Tax Manager, depending on experience and qualifications, offering scope for development and exposure to varied and interesting work.

Role Responsibilities



Prepare and review personal tax returns, including capital gains computations and schedules for income from property. Advise on tax planning opportunities, including Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax, and trust matters. Assist with the trust registration service and review IHT implications. Conduct Statutory Residence Test assessments and support non-resident clients with tax compliance. Present returns and advisory findings clearly to clients, ensuring they understand complex issues. Oversee the progress of tax compliance within the team and ensure deadlines are consistently met. Manage a personal portfolio of clients, developing strong professional relationships and identifying opportunities for additional services. Support and mentor junior staff, delegating tasks effectively and reviewing their work for quality and compliance. Contribute to internal business development and client retention initiatives.

Personal Requirements



ATT qualified (or QBE) with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience; CTA qualification or working towards it is advantageous. Practical experience in personal tax compliance, advisory work, and trusts. Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. Ability to communicate complex tax matters in a clear and client-friendly way. Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
