Overview:



The

Tax Manager, EMEA

will join the team to manage all corporate tax reporting and compliance requirements in the EMEA region for MUFG Pension & Market Services. You will provide relevant advice with respect to taxation matters, monitor taxation developments, prepare tax provision calculations and coach and train staff, whilst identifying opportunities to be innovative or improve processes within the Finance team and wider MUFG Pension & Market Services Group.


The role is based on a hybrid basis from our stunning city centre office in Leeds which is a short distance from the train station and on all major bus routes, including the Park & Ride route. Or you could be based from our central London office, which is near several tube stations and on different bus routes.


Please note that the role is part of a global team, so you will need the flexibility to work outside core business hours as required.

What you need:



As with any role, we want to find the right person and we want to make sure you know it's the right role for you too. You will need:


A

professional Accounting qualification

, with an excellent

understanding of tax legislation and current accounting standards

Demonstrable experience in

managing month end reporting requirements and analysis

Exceptional PC skills

, including Microsoft Word and Excel and other Accounting products, in addition to excellent numerical skills Flexibility, responsiveness and the

ability to work to tight deadlines

within a global team Excellent

verbal and written communication skills

with an ability to work either autonomously or as part of a team

An ability to take responsibility and resolve issues

The ability to

build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders

within the business

It would be nice to have:



Demonstrable experience with large corporate structures and the associated consolidation and equity accounting issues

Day to Day, you will:



Monitor taxation developments to ensure MUFG Pension & Market Services (MPMS) complies with all legislative requirements, whilst maintaining, implementing and ensuring compliance with MPMS Group tax policies Ensure revenue authorities (HMRC etc), are notified of any changes in circumstances Research and provide advice to business representatives regarding all taxation matters Prepare tax provision calculations and disclosures for inclusion in MPMS Group's interim and annual financial statements and taxes paid report, in addition to assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts tax calculations Interpret information received form processing functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll, providing feedback when required Work with the business to design and execute transfer pricing methodologies, ensuring tax obligations are met in a simple and efficient way Provide a key liaison point, developing policies regarding employee benefits when related to employee benefits tax legislation Work with external tax advisors to ensure appropriate tax policies are implemented and fully documented, in addition to coordinating the timely preparation and completion of MPMS Group's income tax returns in the UK and Ireland Ensure taxation balances are accounted for correctly and entered into the monthly management accounts and general ledger Monitor compliance of all overseas and subsidiary company's tax returns and coordinate completion with overseas subsidiary management and the tax advisor Respond to any requests from regulators and tax audit requests, e.g. HMRC, Irish Revenue and overseas tax offices Provide tax accounting for new acquisitions, including a review of completion balance sheets and stub returns Please note that the role is part of a global team and therefore requires the role holder to have the flexibility to work outside core business hours.
