This role is designed to provide support to a Director in managing a broad portfolio of clients. The focus is on ensuring efficient delivery of client services and overall assistance to the director and wider team in maintaining his client base.
The role will suit someone with experience in accounts and personal and corporate tax, who is able to manage deadlines and pays attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Compliance
Prepare and submit Self-Assessment tax returns for individuals, partnerships and sole traders
Prepare and submit corporation tax returns in line with client deadlines
Prepare and submit associated filings including P11Ds, VAT, PAYE, and CIS registrations/returns
Prepare and submit all company house filings including CS01's
Prepare accounts for all entities as and when required for sole trader, partnership and smaller company accounts
General assistance to director on all client matters
Client Communication and Admin
Utilise internal systems to monitor tax payment reminders, submission confirmations, and Companies House filings and assist the director in maintaining required company statutory records including preparation of minutes etc
Monitor HMRC client correspondence and assist the director where appropriate with responses and support
Assist with onboarding of new clients
Key Attributes and Skills
Minimum 2 years' experience in a UK provincial accountancy practice with a strong knowledge of Self-Assessment, corporation tax, VAT compliance and accounts preparation
Minimum: AAT qualified (or qualified by experience with a strong compliance and accounts background)
Familiarity with cloud-based tax and accounting platforms (e.g. FreeAgent, Xero, HMRC systems)
Competent with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Strong organisational and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent accuracy in delivery
Development
Full training and support provided to build familiarity with internal systems and procedures
Quarterly development reviews with the director
Involvement in internal process improvements for the director as and when appropriate
Continued exposure to a growing, varied and engaging client portfolio
Encouragement and flexibility to pursue additional qualifications if appropriate
