Our client is a leading international service provider to the energy industry, with a diverse client portfolio including many of the world's leading energy companies.

The Opportunity

This is a key role within the tax department and will require the successful candidate to manage both internal and external group tax reporting. It will report to the Aberdeen based Finance Director and will require the successful candidate to be based in Aberdeen.


You will be involved in Tax Reporting, Compliance and Advisory and optimisation of Financial Controls. You will interact across both the tax and wider finance team, building strong relationships to be seen as the go to person for any tax related issues. Tax compliance is a major focus of the group, and the company faces extremely complex tax issues as part of a large international group in the oil and gas industry.

Background and experience

Professional qualification in accounting or tax, ICAS/ACCA/CTA/ATT Strong academic record Excellent general UK tax knowledge Tax software experience, Alphatax or similar Reporting writing and analytical skills Ability to work effectively with all areas of the business and to communicate with colleagues, and build effective relationships Ability to critically analyse current work methods and suggest and rapidly implement successful change Strong verbal and written communication in English desirable Tax experience within the profession or industry, relevant work experience in oil and gas services preferred Good working knowledge and experience of application of IFRS Ability to conduct research into basic advisory queries
