You will have good time management and prioritisation of work whilst under pressure and be a proactive individual and team player. Good working knowledge of IT and Microsoft Excel essential. The ideal person might be part/fully qualified or just by experience with the right aptitude and attitude to learn, as well as a general understanding of tax and PAYE and able to process Tax Returns and use Sage Accounts 50. Candidates will be well presented, progressive in outlook and responsibility and able to work to deadlines as part of a team or independently.
The main functions will start as follows, evolving over time for career progression:
General book-keeping; using Sage online 50 and Excel spreadsheets
Purchase Ledger
Completing Tax calculations
Liaising with clients, in person, via telephone and letters
Liaising with HMRC for clients via telephone and letters
Making notes on client files regarding correspondence and logging details
Accurately charging time to the relevant files
Completing and submitting tax returns to HMRC
Completing Company Accounts and submitting to HMRC and Companies House
Completing Trust and Charity Accounts and filing with HMRC and the Charities Commission.
This position requires a logical and mature approach, an ability to be flexible and to work under own initiative or within the team, sometimes under pressure and to deadlines.
