Expression of Interest: Taxonomist

Are you passionate about organizing information and creating systems that help users find exactly what they need?

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from talented

Taxonomists

who are ready to take their expertise to the next level.

About the Opportunity:

As a Taxonomist, you will play a critical role in developing, maintaining, and optimizing taxonomies, metadata schemas, and classification structures to ensure content is intuitively organized and easily discoverable. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, design, marketing, and engineering, to shape the way users interact with our information.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage taxonomies, ontologies, and controlled vocabularies. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand user needs and business objectives. Analyze content types and user behaviors to inform taxonomy design. Maintain governance standards to ensure consistency and scalability. Provide tagging guidelines and support to content teams. Conduct audits to identify improvements to existing taxonomies and metadata frameworks.

About You:

Strong background in taxonomy development, information architecture, library science, data science, or related fields. Experience with taxonomy management tools and content management systems. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts for different audiences. Experience working in cross-functional environments is a plus.
