Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a Data System Engineer to support the significant activity within the department and the development of numerous digitalisation projects. This role is crucial for enhancing IT security within our industrial systems and maintaining the technical support of our operational teams. The field of intervention will encompass a broad range of telecommunications infrastructure, including Ethernet, IP, WDM, SDH, Wi-Fi, GSM/GSM-R, and telephone systems.

Provide Level 2 intervention on Eurotunnel's data transmission networks, supporting front-line maintenance technicians across the entire site (FR and UK). Deliver training to the frontline team, ensuring their skills and knowledge are continuously updated. Analyse telecommunications network issues reported by other technicians or specialists and propose effective solutions. Implement cybersecurity recommendations, such as network partitioning, in collaboration with the systems security manager. Collaborate with project managers to assess network access requests and propose optimal solutions in terms of cost and maintainability. Execute maintenance projects related to technological advancements. Produce detailed reports and technical presentations for teams and management. Conduct technology watch within the scope, monitor product obsolescence, and activate necessary updates. Develop and update maintenance instructions as requested by Group Leaders and Technical Managers. Ensure supplier compliance with safety regulations, conduct regular on-site safety visits, and establish Prevention Plans and work permits.

Qualifications and Experience

Previous work experience in telecommunications or an electronics role in an industrial setting is essential. An Engineering degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent in Computer Science, Telecoms/Networks, or low-current electronics, with demonstrable professional experience. A valid driver's license and passport are required. Proficiency in

English and French is essentia*l for effective communication with colleagues.
