Who we are

We are an alternative school and education charity with a 20-year track record, built on an ethos of creative and individualised learning. Students come to us when they need a new approach. The education we provide is tailor-made for each child, based on their needs and interests. Teachers have the freedom to adapt the curriculum, using creativity to bring lessons alive.

The role

We are looking for a Science Teacher to teach small groups and individual students at our Learning Hubs in Shoreditch and/or Bermondsey. Our students are typically not suited to mainstream education due to SEN, medical needs, or SEMH. The work is varied, challenging, incredibly rewarding. Our aim is to use creative means to inspire students. This approach has helped us to engage some of the most hard to reach young people and we are proud that, over the years, we have turned many of their lives around. You will be supported by our office education team and the Department Head. The goal is to help your student(s) learn creatively, grow socially and achieve academically.

You will need:
  • An honours degree or equivalent professional qualification (QTS is not essential).
  • Experience working with young people in an educational setting.
  • An A-Level (or equivalent) in relevant subjects.
  • The ability to teach confidently and creatively up to KS4 level.
Pay:
  • From \xc2\xa327,155 FTE
  • One off induction day - 10.00am - 4.00pm
  • Five Tuesday afternoon induction training sessions- 4.30 - 6.00pm

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020. Any job officer will be conditional on the satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks, including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and barred list check.
