We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support the educational development of children, particularly those with autism and other disabilities. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment, assisting in the delivery of lessons and providing individual support to students. This role is vital in fostering a positive educational experience for all learners.
Duties
Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons tailored to the needs of students, particularly those with special educational needs.
Support children with autism and other disabilities in their daily activities, promoting independence and self-confidence.
Engage with students during classroom activities, ensuring they are actively participating and understanding the material.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students requiring additional help, including during lessons and playtime.
Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all learners, addressing any behavioural issues with patience and understanding.
Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop effective teaching strategies that cater to diverse learning needs.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a strong community of support around each child's education.
Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and resources, ensuring they are accessible for all students.
Qualifications
Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or other disabilities, is highly desirable.
Background in special education or related fields is an advantage.
Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and staff.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
Experience in toddler care is beneficial for supporting younger learners.
