Overview

Cygnets Art School Cannock

is looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, and reliable new teacher and Teaching assistant to run our classes! Please read all information carefully, as this is a part-time, freelance position and may not suit everyone.

Cygnets is a fine art school franchise for children (ages 5-13), teaching traditional drawing, painting, and sculpture using professional materials. Classes run after school and weekends during term time, plus holidays.

Role:

Teach term-time and holiday classes at the Cannock branch, with groups of up to 16 students (assistants provided for larger classes). Assist with marketing activities such as flyering local schools.

Training:

Step-by-step teaching videos provided; training sessions will be arrange according to availability.

Hours:

Term time: Mondays 4:30-6pm, Tuesdays 4:30-6pm, Wednesdays 4:30-6pm, Thursdays 4:30-6pm, Fridays 4:30-5:30pm, Saturdays 9:30am-12:00pm Holidays: Various half term and school holidays

Requirements:

Strong artistic skills, particularly drawing and painting Passion for working with children Reliability and good organization (Preferred) Teaching experience and local school connections Enhanced DBS required, but can be provided Safeguarding level 2 or designated safeguarding lead level 3 Previous teaching experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to motivate students.

Duties

Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in accordance with curriculum standards and student needs. Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback. Create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation, curiosity, and respect. Develop customised learning activities to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities. Uphold school policies and promote positive behaviour among pupils. Set up before class and clean up after class

Pay: 15.00-30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 20 per week
