The Exciting Role


A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a 0.7 Teacher of L3 Applied science, biology specialist.

You will be part of a highly successful team of dedicated staff delivering Vocational Applied science to our learners at Nelson and Colne College.

The vocational and technical curriculum aims to "create the extraordinary" in all we do, and this ambition and drive has resulted in the curriculum being recognised as Outstanding by Ofsted for the last 20 years.

The vocational and technical curriculum has been designed to reflect our vision to build stronger communities and create high quality routes into high-value Professional and Technical careers for all our learners.

The Level 3 curriculum is a two-year study programme culminating in a vocational or technical qualification equivalent to three A Levels. Each level 3 programme is developed and delivered through a high degree collaboration, both within the organisation and with external partners, the curriculum is designed to reflect industry needs and prepares our learners for the world of work through extensive employer involvement. The vocational and technical career is ambitious for every learner, career-focused and built around carefully planned destinations, with each learner on the right programme based on their individual career aim and prior achievement. With a strong focus on developing "Work Ready" skills learners benefit from a curriculum that has been designed to equip learners with the behaviours, attitudes and aptitudes which employers value the most.

The successful candidate will be primarily based at Nelson campus but may be required to travel across sites to our Accrington campus so a driving license and access to a vehicle is an desirable requirement.

What You Will Be Doing

:

Plan, deliver and assess L3 Applied science and T level Healthcare science Biology to our learners. Support our learners academically but also in the capacity as a personal tutor.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic with excellent subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Biology. Can deliver outstanding teaching, learning, assessment and support to our learners. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic practitioner who promotes and upholds the same high expectations as the College and its students. With a focus on sharing good practice, they will be committed to their own continuous professional development and will engage enthusiastically with our quality processes to ensure that our students receive an Outstanding experience.
