We are looking to recruit a teacher to work with our wonderful ASD learners in specialist wings that are designed to enable our learners to thrive. Our whole ethos and curriculum are based around the triad of the essential skills of Communication - Self Regulation & Social Skills. You will need to be a person who can relate to our learners work closely as part of our team. Key players include our Behaviour & Health Lead, Therapy Teams, and Parents. It is essential that you have that special something that allows you to engage with and motivate our learners in creative and ingenious ways, be innovative and imaginative in providing meaningful learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom. We want you to make the ordinary extraordinary. Most classes are based around eight learners with two support staff depending on the needs of the learners. All classes follow timetables based around our bespoke curriculum which we have developed to meet the needs of our learners. We follow topics and extend our activities through our Friday Theme Days. All class teachers are part of a curriculum development team and have additional non-contact time as well-being is important to us.
For us it is about appointing the right person who has an interest in SEND and Autistic Spectrum Disorders. As such we are open to applications from primary or secondary ECTs or more experiences teachers. We are based in Mansfield Woodhouse and currently have 138 pupils. We were rated as Outstanding by OFSTED in January with no areas for improvement although we continue to drive the development of SEND practice.

The opportunity
This will require you to work and support learners on the Autistic Spectrum and can be either primary pr secondary based.
In addition to the Conditions of Employment laid down in the current DfE School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document, you will be required to carry out the following duties:
To undertake the teaching of designated students and associated duties according to our bespoke version of the National Curriculum, other statutory curriculum requirements and within the framework of the whole academy and faculty policies, local agreements and statutory regulations.
To take an appropriate share of responsibilities attached to teachers generally within the academy in connection with the teaching and supervision of students, the preparation and marking of work, monitoring of student progress, team planning and development and the day to day operation of the academy, faculties and teams.
To complete and chair the annual review of Educational health Care Plans in accordance with the SEN Code of Practice
To secure high standards of learning outcomes for all students through effective teaching.
To make a positive contribution to academy life and live by the academy vision
Commit to CPD based around SEND and the needs of learners in your class.

Work towards becoming an Outstanding ASD practitioner.
Work directly with young people building relationships and working together to ensure that our community is safe and well supported.
Be caring and supporting in assisting pupils with their day-to-day personal needs.
Essential:
