Teacher of Art

Fixed term, maternity cover; Part-time

Commencing: January 2026

Closing date: 26 September 2025 at 12 noon

Haileybury is seeking a talented and passionate teacher to join our vibrant and dynamic Art Department to cover a period of maternity leave.

This is a part-time role, with the expectation of working 60% of a teaching timetable. The exact working pattern can be discussed at interview.

At Haileybury, we believe that art education not only enriches a pupil's experience of school but also helps them develop an exciting and extensive range of creative and technical skills.

We are fortunate to be able to offer an incredibly well-resourced Art School on campus and one-to-one support from supportive, dedicated teachers, our Art Fellow and our Art Technician.

The Art Department at Haileybury offers public examination courses at GCSE, A level and International Baccalaureate (IB). Art lessons are compulsory for all Lower School pupils to encourage the development of cognitive skills in these crucial years. In Removes, pupils wishing to continue studying art can opt to follow the Visual Arts pathway.

The role is suitable for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking for a supportive and stimulating first post, or an experienced educator seeking a fresh challenge in an academically ambitious and forward-thinking environment.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Art or a closely related subject and be able to teach up to Sixth Form. Prior experience with GCSE, A Level and/or IB is an advantage but not essential. A commitment to creative, responsive teaching, and the ability to inspire, stretch and support pupils of all abilities is essential.

Please see the candidate brief for more information.
