We are seeking a well-qualified, lively, highly motivated Art specialist and innovative thinker to further strengthen the provision in the faculty. This is a part-time role working 0.6 FTE to cover sickness until the 31st December 2025.
This is an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified Teacher of Art. The successful candidate will be expected to play a full part in the academic, pastoral and social life of the school, to act as a personal tutor and to take part in the school's programme of professional development. You will be able to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of pedagogy and personalisation strategies and be responsible for maintaining the highest quality of monitoring and evaluating whilst improving the standard of achievement for all students. You will be confident in your abilities to teach effectively at all key stages and a specialism in Art is essential. You will be adept in creating a supportive, encouraging and safe learning environment for students of all diverse backgrounds. Art at SGHS
Art sits within our CREATE (Computing, Robotics, Engineering, Art, Technology, Enterprise) Faculty. We currently have 6 teaching staff, with Curriculum Leaders for each subject, and a Learning Director with an overview across all subjects in the faculty. Students are bright and enthusiastic and are encouraged to maintain a very high standard of work; while developing the skills and creativity they need to be independent and self-regulated learners, preparing them for examinations and future careers.
