Holy Trinity Church of England School is a vibrant and inclusive community located in Crawley, a culturally rich and diverse town. Crawley has fantastic transport links sitting halfway between Croydon and Brighton on the M23 corridor. There is also a fast train service between London Victoria, East Croydon, Haywards Heath and Brighton, in addition to other lines that serve the South. The school operates a minibus service for staff at the start and end of the day serving the three stations in Crawley (Ifield, Crawley and Three Bridges). The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join our outstanding teaching team. You will be responsible for teaching English to students in Years 7 to 11, delivering engaging and creative lessons that develop and engage our students with a love for literature and language. You will be a part of a young, forward-thinking, collaborative and supportive department that values innovation in teaching and a commitment to student success. The faculty work hard as a team but also have a great sense of humour and achieve a healthy work-life balance. We are looking for a team player who will help us to develop and shape the next phase of our journey to excellence.
What You Need to Succeed
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons to students in Years 7-11, adhering to the national curriculum.
Inspire students to engage deeply with literature, writing, and critical thinking.
Assess and monitor students' progress, providing feedback to help them achieve their personal and academic goals.
Foster a classroom environment based on mutual respect, inclusivity, and a love of learning.
Participate in departmental and whole-school initiatives to promote literacy and student development.
Contribute to the wider life of the school community through extracurricular activities or pastoral support.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Must hold
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
.
Strong subject knowledge of English, with the ability to teach up to GCSE level.
A passion for teaching and learning, with a commitment to student progress and achievement.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
An understanding and appreciation of the school's Christian ethos and values.
