Bacon's achievements were recognised by Ofsted in June 2022 when we received a grading of 'Good' overall and in every area. In 2024 our GCSE outcomes were our best ever with 56% of students achieving grade 5+ in English and Maths and a P8 of +0.4. Our VI form results were excellent with 58% of grades at A*-B. This is an exciting time to be joining Bacon's as we seek to continuously improve and be a great school in every respect.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate, highly motivated and ambitious Teacher of Geography to join our successful Geography department at Bacon's College. If you are a dedicated, motivated and determined individual looking for an opportunity to make your mark, this is the perfect opportunity for you to join our journey to success.



Geography is a very strong department with a track record of successful outcomes at GCSE (57% grade 9-5 and 23% grade 9-7) and A Level (82% A-B, 100% A-C). We are not complacent and seek to improve these results year on year.



Geography is a popular and growing subject with over two thirds of students studying it to GCSE and strong uptake at A level. Enrichment is a key aspect of the geography curriculum including an annual visit to Iceland. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the enrichment offer.

This role calls for an individual who is able to inspire, challenge and motivate our students. You must have the highest of expectations of every student, be enthusiastic, flexible and have a desire to see Geography continue to flourish as well as the desire to become a valued member of Bacon's College.
