About the role




Are you an enthusiastic and dynamic teacher who can confidently teach History at Key Stage 3 and GCSE Levels?


As a Teacher of History at St Ninian's High School, you will be undertaking an interesting and rewarding position within the framework of an important area of the school, an ideal opportunity for an Early Careers Teacher or a more experienced Teacher seeking a fresh challenge.

A competitive salary that increases each 12 months until you reach the salary maximum.


Subject to meeting eligibility criteria, you will be offered two pensions arrangements: the Teachers Superannuation scheme or the Isle of Man Government Defined Contribution (DC) arrangement.


If you are returning to the island and have participated in the Department's Student Loan scheme for tuition fees, the loan will be repaid by the Department upon completion of your second year working as a teacher at one of the island's schools. The repayment is subject to a maximum of 7,500 for a three year degree course or 10,000 for a four year degree course, and the requirements detailed in the Teacher Loan Cancellation Policy.


If you are an Early Career Teacher, you will receive payments of 2,000 at the beginning of your first and second school years in teaching, following the completion of the ECT induction period (2 years).
