Part Time Teacher of History


This is an exciting opportunity to commence from January 2026.

We are seeking an inspirational teacher of History to lead the subject area and develop and maintain a thriving place for History, both as an examination option and as a subject contributing strongly, within the curriculum and beyond.
This position will suit an experienced teacher or an NQT who has the confidence to work in a small department.
The successful candidate will:

Have responsibility for teaching History at Key Stage 3, GCSE and A level. Co-ordinate and develop the curriculum provision of the department, producing appropriate schemes of work and ensuring smooth progression across the age range for pupils studying the subject. Plan, organise and run periodic History trips for each group, in line with the school's vision of making education as experiential, practical and inspiring as possible. Promote History as an A level option, in order to attract viable group size each year, within the context of our small school.
