Part Time Teacher Of Mathematics From September 2025
King's Bruton is an HMC co-educational boarding and day school of 350 pupils aged 13-18.
An enthusiastic and suitably qualified teacher of Mathematics is required to join our successful Mathematics department from September 2025. The successful candidate will be an inspiring and motivated teacher with a specialist or Mathematics-related degree, eager to contribute to the continued development of Mathematics across the school.
Mathematics remains a valued subject at both GCSE and A Level. A good number of pupils continue to choose Mathematics at A Level, with pupils progressing to Mathematics-related courses at university and beyond. The department is keen to further strengthen its provision and build on recent progress, offering an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher to make a real impact.
Pupils benefit from a range of enrichment opportunities, including the chance to study Additional Mathematics at GCSE and A Level Further Mathematics in the 6th Form. The successful applicant will teach A Level Mathematics, further maths would be advantageous, within a supportive environment and with small class sizes that allow for a focus on individual progress.
This position would suit a creative and dedicated teacher who enjoys working with pupils of all abilities and is committed to helping every pupil achieve their potential. King's Bruton is a mixed independent school with sixth form in the Somerset town of Bruton. Students attend the school from the ages of 13 to 18, with the option to board throughout their school careers. There are approximately 370 students on roll. The Somerset school operates in partnership with Hazlegrove Preparatory School, in nearby Sparkford.
King's Bruton was founded as a boys' school in 1519, admitting girls in the late 1960s before becoming fully co-educational in 1997.
