Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured Physics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable).
Create a stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific enquiry.
Assess, track, and monitor student progress to ensure all learners achieve their full potential.
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all students, including those with additional learning requirements.
Contribute to the development and delivery of the school's science curriculum and schemes of work.
Prepare students for internal and external examinations, ensuring high standards of achievement.
Foster a positive classroom atmosphere based on respect, engagement, and a passion for learning.
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and contribute to departmental initiatives.
Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Essential:
A degree in Physics or a closely related subject.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Strong subject knowledge and understanding of current educational practices.
Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
A passion for inspiring young people to engage with science and pursue further study.
Desirable:
Experience teaching Physics at GCSE and/or A-Level.
Familiarity with practical science delivery and health and safety procedures in the lab.
Ability to integrate technology and innovative teaching methods into lessons.
