The Post





The College is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic, and hardworking teacher to join the successful Sport & Public Services Department. The post is available on a fixed-term, full or part-time basis from 1 January 2026 to 31 August 2026 (38.10% to 100%). The full-time teaching contact time at Reigate College is 21 hours per week. The ability to teach Criminology would be an advantage. There are approximately 8 to 12 periods of Public Services teaching available, with the rest being Criminology.



Our ideal person will be able to demonstrate a track record of success in delivering the highest standards and achieving outstanding results. The post holder must be confident in the use of information technology in all aspects of their work.



The post would equally suit an experienced teacher or a newly qualified teacher.



The Sport and Public Services Department





The Department is housed in the Sports Centre. All classrooms are fully equipped with data projectors and whiteboards. The Department also has access to desktop PCs to further enhance learning.



The Department teaches in a collaborative style, with all staff contributing to central teaching resources. Students regularly progress onto university courses for Law, Public Services and Sport, in addition to apprenticeship and employment opportunities in the Police and Nursing.



The Department has eight other members of teaching staff. The Department works closely as a team in a friendly and co-operative manner. Strong emphasis is given to mutual support by the exchange of ideas and materials.


The Criminology Department





The Criminology Department is located in the Priory building in fully equipped classrooms. The team consists of eight other teachers, who work closely in a collaborative style, contributing to central teaching resources.



The Department is led by a Head of Department, supported by Course Leaders for each of the qualifications offered. The Department meets once a week during the College's dedicated Meeting Slot during the College day.



The Department has an excellent record of outstanding student achievement, high quality provision and innovative curriculum development. Students regularly progress onto university courses for Criminology, Psychology, Sociology and Law, in addition to highly competitive apprenticeships.

Sport and Public Services offer the following qualifications:


BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Public Services BTEC Level 2 Award in Public Services A Level Physical Education Sport BTEC Level 3 Diploma Sport BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate Sport BTEC Level 2 Award

Criminology offer the following qualification:


Eduqas Level 3 Criminology

The full-time salary for this post is up to 53,232 per annum.
