Science Teacher

Location: Weston-super-Mare

Pay: 162.31 - 234.08per day

Type: Long-term/permanent

Hours: Full-time

Elementa is recruiting for a Teacher of Science for this popular Secondary School on the outskirts of Weston-super-Mare, close to Junction 21 of the M5. The school describes itself as a "fully inclusive secondary school dedicated to serving our children, our families and our local community". The school has been working hard on its long-term development plan and to highlight areas of improvement and implement these to achieve future success.


This school is looking for a permanent placement for this role, however, the likelihood is that this would be an initial 12-week contract via agency before moving to a permanent contract.


The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to deliver engaging and comprehensive Science lessons that contribute to the educational success of students.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Science lessons across different disciplines including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey. Create a positive and stimulating learning environment that promotes student engagement and achievement. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and contribute to a vibrant school community. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments within the Science curriculum and implement innovative teaching strategies.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following:


Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS). Demonstrable experience teaching Science at the secondary level. A strong background in Science subjects, with the ability to teach Physics, Chemistry, and Biology effectively. Excellent communication skills and a passion for inspiring students.
