Job Details
Do you have a passion for Physical Education and the ability to lead?
We are a large and dynamic department that delivers a diverse range of sports, including football, netball, rugby, basketball, gymnastics, dance, hockey, handball, trampolining, athletics, cricket, rounders, tennis, volleyball, badminton, boxing, cheerleading, and table tennis.
The Burgess Hill Academy boasts excellent sports facilities, including expansive playing fields, a state-of-the-art 3G pitch, six tennis courts, a fully equipped sports hall, a gym, and a fitness suite. These facilities allow us to provide high-quality PE lessons and a variety of extra-curricular activities.
At Key Stage 3, we dedicate one period per fortnight to our Life curriculum, offering students opportunities beyond the national curriculum to explore alternative PE activities, health, wellbeing, and personal development. At Key Stage 4, we offer both the Cambridge National in Sports Studies and AQA GCSE PE, ensuring students have a strong foundation for further study or careers in sport.
Beyond lessons, we provide a wide range of extra-curricular clubs, including football, rugby, basketball, cricket, athletics, and netball. We are committed to offering as many opportunities as possible for students to participate in sport outside of lessons, with regular fixtures and tournaments that help foster a competitive and inclusive sporting environment.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take on additional responsibility, contribute to the development of PE within the school, and work within a supportive and forward-thinking team that is dedicated to providing the best experiences for students.
