The position will be based at our Kingsland Grange site in Shrewsbury.

The successful candidate will be required to support a variety of pupils who have specific learning needs, for engagement for learning (E4L) and qualifications.

This position is based in our Upper School and the duties will include:

Developing a knowledge of a range of learning support needs and to develop an understanding of the specific needs of the students to be supported. Taking into account the learning support involved, to aid the students to learn as effectively as possible both in collaborative group situations and individually Identifying clear teaching objectives specifying delivery and assessment methods setting tasks which challenge, ensure high levels of interest providing clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation, and challenge Liaising with other teaching staff to assess pupils' work systematically, using formative and summative feedback to inform future planning, teaching, and curricular development. Be familiar with the systems on the school MIS and prepare and present informative, helpful, and accurate reports to parents. Physically fit & able to keep up with the demands of a challenging job Creative and inspiring?- able to?engage children in a range of learning experiences and develop positive attitudes to learning Playful and fun - children will want to spend time with you Committed to a genuinely child-centred approach?to learning?and to creating opportunities for all children to thrive. Nurturing and able to provide the very highest standards of acceptance, care and understanding to our pupils. Reflective and passionate about improving your own practice, in order to provide the best experiences you can to our children A?safe pair of hands and an excellent role model Able to?plan and lead activities for individuals and small groups of up to 6 children, (with other supporting staff as appropriate to their needs) Able to Support children to use and develop positive strategies for coping and for regulating their own behaviour. Willing to support children regulate through their lunch and break times
You will have:

- the ability to remain calm, to deescalate and to co-regulate a child. - practical skills and knowledge that you are able to share effectively with children with autism, attention and communication difficulties and those that have experienced trauma - excellent communication and language skills yourself and an understanding of how to communicate effectively with children with communication difficulties Resilience and an excellent attendance record in your previous employment
Previous experience with SEN pupils would be an advantage, as would relevant qualifications in these areas. Our pupils have a range of challenges from moderate learning difficulties to social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and may present challenging behaviours.

In addition to classroom duties the positions you have an advantage if you have:

De-escalation and physical Intervention experience Experience of emotional regulation e.g., THRIVE Ability to support / plan and deliver lessons in the specific subjects required : English and Humanities
