Teaching and Learning SEND Support Assistant
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary
Location: Fareham Area
Pay: 370 to 3110 dependent on experience*
Start Date: ASAP to July 2026
Whats the job?
Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? You will work closely with teachers to support SEN pupils with moderate, severe, or multiple learning difficulties, as well as behavioural, social, communication, sensory, or physical disabilities.

Who are you?

• Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
• Experience working with SEN pupils.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and health & safety.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in delivering tailored learning activities under teacher supervision.
• Support therapy and care programmes.
• Monitor pupil progress and report to the teacher.
• Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Manage challenging behaviour and provide emotional support.
• Supervise pupils during school activities and outings.
• Maintain learning resources and assist with specialist equipment.
