Homefield Primary school and SSC is a new Primary school established in September 2024, and is the amalgamation of two very good schools. Whilst we are waiting for our new build, we are operating across 2 sites - the Lower school site on Lyndhurst Road and the Upper school site on Chesswood Road.
The school team is dedicated to providing an outstanding educational experience for the learners in our care. We have high aspirations for all our children, both academically and socially. What You Need to Succeed
We are seeking to appoint Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated and caring team of support staff. We are seeking to appoint flexible and resilient people who are passionate about supporting our learners within a Primary setting. A teaching assistant role is varied, and we are looking for people who can work as a class TA, support 1 to1 and support some interventions. Duties will also include play and lunch supervision as we feel that known adults can support our therapeutic approaches to behaviour management
To be successful in this role you will need to:
Work within the school's policies and procedures
Support children with additional needs either within the classroom or in a small group
Be flexible, well organised and hard-working
Be enthusiastic and able to contribute to and work collaboratively as part of a team
Be willing to access training and support via online platforms
Have high expectations of achievement and behaviour
Liaise and work closely with the class teacher and Inclusion Leads
We are keen to accept applications from candidates looking for either full-time or part-time hours.
For a full-time post the hours will typically be 8.45am to 3.15pm, Monday to Friday (term time only) split between two contracts - one as a Teaching Assistant for 27 hours 30 minutes per week on Grade 3, Point 3, and the second one as a Midday Meals Supervisor for 2 hours 30 minutes per week on Grade 2, Point 2.
