Description of the job / Vacancy description

As a teaching assistant you would support teachers and help children with their educational and social development, in and out of the classroom.

Posts will include:

Support learners with their Welsh language and literacy skills Supporting pupils with additional learning needs (ALN) Support pupils with their numeracy, literacy and ICT skills Support the learners in the variety of areas in the class Understand the safeguarding and conduct policy and their role within these policies Promoting Welsh culture Working with children aged 3-6 Support a teacher in various roles in the classroom The ability to behave in a professional manner at all times when working in schools
Essential Criteria:

Must be fluent in Welsh Desire to learn more about becoming a Teaching Assistant Enthusiasm for working with children Possess relevant qualities including patience and communication The ability to demonstrate professionalism at all times The ability to listen and learn from more experienced staff
Desirable personal qualities / Desirable personal qualities

Previous experience of working with children Any previous experience with special educational needs Strong Welsh, English and Mathematics Communication skills relevant to children and adults Competent skills in numeracy, literacy and ICT The ability to self-manage and organize your own time

Reliable Smart appearance Professional attitude A level of maturity will be required when working in a school environment Ambitious and active Want to be a positive role model for young people

Working Hours:



30 hours per week for term time only

Qualification required



Minimum A*-C GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Welsh speaking skills



Essential

Apprenticeship to be undertaken (Level and course)



Level 2 or 3 NVQ Supporting, Teaching and Learning

Job Types: Fixed term contract, Apprenticeship
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: 8.60 per hour
