Job Description

We are seeking compassionate, flexible, and motivated individuals to support the running of a

new Alternative Provision

for children and young people who are

not currently accessing full-time school

due to

EBSA

,

reduced timetables

, or while

waiting for a specialist placement

.

About the Role



You will work closely with children and young people in a

calm, nurturing, and low-demand environment

. Learning is

practical and hands-on

, within a

structured day that is always led by the child

. The focus is on building trust, emotional safety, confidence, and engagement at the child's pace.

Support may include:

Facilitating practical, interest-led activities Supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing Helping children re-engage with learning in a way that feels safe and achievable Adapting the day in response to each child's needs, energy, and capacity
This role is offered on a

zero-hours contract

, with the

potential for a permanent position

as the provision grows.

Who We're Looking For



Applicants must have

personal or professional experience

supporting children and young people who:

Are neurodivergent, including

Autism, ADHD, and PDA profiles

Experience

Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)

May have anxiety, regulation needs, or barriers to accessing education
Experience may come from education, care, youth work, family life, or lived experience.

All appointments are subject to safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check.

Pay: 13.00-14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 - 10 per week
