About the Role:




As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils both in and out of the classroom, helping to promote their educational and social development. Working under the guidance of teaching staff, you will contribute to creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment where pupils can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:



Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction of teaching staff. Provide pastoral support and establish supportive, productive relationships with pupils. Participate in the assessment of pupils to identify those requiring targeted help. Support the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour/Support/Mentoring Plans. Encourage smooth transitions between key phases and reintegration of pupils who have been absent. Provide guidance and feedback to pupils to support learning, behaviour, and attendance. Liaise with feeder schools and external bodies to gather relevant pupil information.

What We're Looking For:



NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent qualification or relevant experience). GCSE grade C and above for Maths and English Experience working in a school environment. Understanding of child development and learning processes, especially barriers to learning. Ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities. Willingness and ability to travel between locations across West Sussex if required. This role will be subject to an enhanced DBS clearance and other background screening
