Monday (8.45am to 3.45pm),
Tuesday (12.45pm to 4.45pm),
Thursday (8.45am to 12.45pm)

We are seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant to work with students studying on our post 16 BTEC sport course/s. This role involves supporting students with varying needs in the classroom including those on an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) and with SEND. You will work within the class alongside a Sports Lecturer, ensuring students receive the individual support needed to succeed academically, holistically, and personally.
Your Main Responsibilities:
Assisting a lecturer within post 16 BTEC sport lessons (predominantly classroom-based, with occasional practical support)
Guiding students through classwork and assessments, providing feedback, and helping them meet their target grades.
Supporting students to achieve their EHCP outcomes by implementing specific strategies and interventions outlined in their plans.
Supporting with management of student behaviour in a constructive manner, using strategies to promote positive engagement and learning outcomes.
Collaborating with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders to support student outcomes.
Providing pastoral support to promote student wellbeing and adhering to safeguarding protocols.
You will have:
Teaching assistant or similar qualification (or willingness to work towards one) - We will support in funding a suitable qualification for the right candidate(Essential)
Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with varying needs.
Previous experience of working with students with SEND and EHCP's, providing tailored support.
An ability to effectively support the planning and delivery of engaging BTEC lessons
Experience in providing feedback and guidance to help students achieve their target grades and other identified outcomes.
An ability to support with monitoring student progress, attendance, and behaviour, with interventions when necessary.
Strong behaviour management skills, promoting positive engagement.
Strong communication skills for working with students, parents, colleagues, and other key stakeholders.
An ability to positively contribute to student review meetings e.g. EHCP and SEND reviews.
An ability to work effectively as part of wider team to achieve the best outcomes for students.
Strong administration and communication skills.
Knowledge of safeguarding policies and best practices in an educational and sports setting.
IT literate.
