Job Description

We are currently recruiting to expand our excellent staff team of Supply/Casual Teaching Assistants. We are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is flexible and adaptable being able to work across both our School and College sites. This position is offered on a casual staff cover needs basis during term-time weeks only. Days of work are arranged by mutual agreement.



The role involves assisting the teacher and other teaching assistants in the development and implementation of a programme of work and in providing a stable, caring and supportive learning environment for the pupils. You will be part of a team that is experienced and supportive. The role is very varied, with no one day being the same, whilst being extremely rewarding. Supply/Casual TA's are expected to work 8:45am to 3:00pm with half an hour break for lunch. The successful applicants will ideally start as soon as possible, following receipt of satisfactory references and completion of safeguarding clearances.

The salary is based on Dorset Job Evaluation XS10.5s (Grade 4).

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. We will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
