Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in providing high-quality learning experiences for students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a strong commitment to working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, including autism and other disabilities. This role is pivotal in fostering an inclusive environment where all students can thrive.

Duties

Assist the lead teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities tailored to the needs of individual students. Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they can fully participate in classroom activities. Help create a positive and nurturing learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement. Support students in developing their social skills and independence through mentoring and tutoring. Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop effective teaching strategies that cater to diverse learning styles. Maintain clear communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns that may arise. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to special education and working with children with disabilities.

Requirements

Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs or disabilities, is highly desirable. Strong understanding of teaching methodologies, including tutoring and mentoring techniques. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues. A compassionate approach towards working with individuals on the autism spectrum or those requiring additional support. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being capable of taking initiative when required. Relevant qualifications in education or special education would be an advantage but are not mandatory.
