Job Overview


We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will support classroom activities and assist in the development of students' academic and social skills. This role is particularly focused on working with children with diverse learning needs, including those with developmental disabilities and autism. The Teaching Assistant will collaborate closely with teachers to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities



Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities. Provide support to students in various subjects, including literacy and math. Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning atmosphere. Work one-on-one or in small groups with students who require additional assistance. Support the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents as needed. Participate in curriculum development and lesson planning activities. Maintain a safe and organised classroom environment conducive to learning. Engage in early childhood education practices, including toddler care and Montessori methods. Document student progress and contribute to assessments.

Skills


The successful candidate will possess a combination of the following skills:

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special education needs. Proficiency in American Sign Language is a plus. Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices. Effective classroom management techniques to foster a productive learning environment. Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and staff. Knowledge of behavior management strategies to support student engagement. Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and educational best practices. Experience in private school settings or familiarity with Montessori education is advantageous. A background in literacy education, math instruction, or general teaching experience is preferred. Job Types: Full-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: 15.00-16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6.5 - 32.5 per week
