Job Overview

Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning in a school setting in London. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to provide classroom support, help pupils achieve their learning goals, and contribute to a positive and inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons

Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils, including those with additional learning needs

Assist in preparing classroom materials and resources

Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning atmosphere

Support pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development

Supervise pupils during break times, trips, and extracurricular activities

Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff

Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times

Requirements & Qualifications

Previous experience working with children in an educational setting (preferred)

Relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent)

A good standard of English and Maths (GCSE or equivalent)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for education

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable Skills

Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Knowledge of the UK National Curriculum

First Aid training

Experience in primary or secondary school settings
