We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team, working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a secondary school setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting individual students both in and out of the classroom, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
Due to the nature of the role, applicants with a background or training in primary education are particularly encouraged to apply, as the position may involve working with students who are functioning at levels below their chronological age.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN
Assist with the implementation of individual learning plans and behaviour strategies
Support teaching staff in the preparation of resources and classroom activities
Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
Monitor and record student progress, feeding back to teachers and SENCO as required
Essential Requirements:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEN
Training or experience in primary education (preferred)
A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students
