To work closely and effectively with class teachers, the SENCO and other support colleagues in the school to support the learning of a small group of students
To encourage pace and independent learning amongst pupils
To work 1:1 with pupils as directed by the class teacher
To help with research and preparation of resources in directed time
To support attendance, behaviour and personal development
To provide the students with an effective role model and provide firm, fair and consistent behaviour boundaries - in line with school policies
To guide and help students to make positive learning, lifestyle, moral and health choices.
To be the champion for a key group of pupils in accordance with the school's tutor and behaviour policies
To support the welfare and well-being of those with social, emotional, mental health and physical disabilities
To develop an in-depth understanding of a group pf key pupils very well; socio-economic backgrounds, educational histories, EHC plans and suggested strategies and provision from the Local Authority
To work with others to plan behaviour targets and provide feedback to the student at the end of the day.
To be responsible for recording and keeping safe and orderly tutees behaviour records - including positive behaviour plans.
To see children safely to their transport at the start/end of the school day
To maintain good and regular relationships with parents face to face and by telephone as well as electronically, giving parents a positive view of the school and their child's educational experience.
Attend review meetings where you are the most knowledgeable appropriate person
