Key responsibilities:

To support teaching, learning and educational outcomes for all students

To assist with the engagement, enjoyment and achievement of each pupil

To work closely and effectively with class teachers, the SENCO and other support colleagues in the school to support the learning of a small group of students

To encourage pace and independent learning amongst pupils

To work 1:1 with pupils as directed by the class teacher

To help with research and preparation of resources in directed time

To support attendance, behaviour and personal development

To provide the students with an effective role model and provide firm, fair and consistent behaviour boundaries - in line with school policies

To guide and help students to make positive learning, lifestyle, moral and health choices.

To be the champion for a key group of pupils in accordance with the school's tutor and behaviour policies

To support the welfare and well-being of those with social, emotional, mental health and physical disabilities

To develop an in-depth understanding of a group pf key pupils very well; socio-economic backgrounds, educational histories, EHC plans and suggested strategies and provision from the Local Authority

To work with others to plan behaviour targets and provide feedback to the student at the end of the day.

To be responsible for recording and keeping safe and orderly tutees behaviour records - including positive behaviour plans.

To see children safely to their transport at the start/end of the school day

To maintain good and regular relationships with parents face to face and by telephone as well as electronically, giving parents a positive view of the school and their child's educational experience.

Attend review meetings where you are the most knowledgeable appropriate person

A strong and unrelenting commitment to the safeguarding and protection of all pupils at all times

A secure and deep understanding of positive strategies for supporting and promoting positive behaviours of pupils within the context of an SEMH school

A willingness to work with the school's policies, procedures and protocols at all times, demonstrating mutual respect and regard for students, colleagues, line management and the school leadership team

Demonstration of a solution-orientated approach, striving for continual improvement

Contributing to a high achieving staff team and taking ownership of own role in positively affecting staff morale

Being open to new ideas and initiatives for the purpose of continually improving provision for pupils

To participate and positively contribute to Team Meetings, for the purpose of whole-school development

To demonstrate a high level of professional and personal integrity at all times, in order to be a strong role model

A calm, inclusive and empathic nature, with a sound understanding of how internal and external factors can influence pupils' behaviour, conduct and/or attainment

To be reliable and hardworking - willing to 'go the extra mile' to ensure the highest quality of provision for pupils

Good time-management skills

A passion and belief in high-quality teaching, learning to ensure the best possible outcomes for all pupils - particularly those who face challenges

Pay: 22,000.00-24,000.00 per year
