An opportunity has arisen for you to join our highly focused, dedicated staff in the role of Teaching Assistant in our alternative curriculum area. We are looking for an excellent practitioner who can support innovative and creative lessons which challenge and engage students to progress academically and develop personally during their time at the academy.

Essential

GCSE English and maths at C/4 (or above) Grade (or equivalent). Relevant and recent experience of working with young people. Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students and providing equality of opportunity.


Desirable

NVQ level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience together with a working knowledge of national curriculum and other relevant learning programmes/strategies. A thorough and practical understanding of issues related to improving students' progress and ensuring equality of opportunity both in and out of the classroom. Experience of supporting young people with improving literacy and numeracy skills as well as development social skills.
