Salary: 2-4 / Point 2 - 19,202.61 (pro rated) inclusive of SNA 1.

Hours of duty: 32.5 hours per week, term time only

Acer Academy is a new specialist SEMH/ASD school with excellent facilities and a clear vision for inclusive, nurturing education. We are seeking caring, patient and proactive Teaching Assistants to join our growing team.


This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to pupils who have experienced barriers to learning and need the right relationships, routines and encouragement to thrive.

The role will include:

Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom, following lesson plans and individual learning targets

Promoting the inclusion, engagement and emotional regulation of all pupils

Supporting pupils to develop independence, confidence and social skills

Helping to prepare and maintain classroom resources and equipment

Recording and reporting on pupil progress and achievements

Providing feedback to teachers and working collaboratively as part of a team

Supporting pupils to access safe spaces and use regulation strategies as needed

Escorting or accompanying pupils to offsite activities, work experience or partner schools when required

Assisting with the supervision of pupils at break and lunchtimes

Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and engagement in line with school policy

We are looking for someone who:

Has a calm, consistent and nurturing approach

Enjoys working as part of a team that supports pupils with social, emotional and communication needs

Is able to build trusting relationships and promote positive behaviour through relational practice

Is patient, reflective and willing to learn new strategies to meet individual needs

Has good communication and organisational skills
