Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support SEN educators in creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. The successful candidate will work closely with children of various ages, including those with special educational needs, to promote their development and ensure they receive the appropriate support to thrive academically and socially. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about education and working with children, particularly those with disabilities or behavioural challenges such as autism.

Duties



Assist teachers in delivering tailored educational programmes to children, including those with autism and other special needs Support children with behavioural, emotional, or developmental challenges to foster a positive learning experience Provide one-on-one assistance to children requiring additional help, including toddlers and those with disabilities Help organise classroom activities, resources, and materials to facilitate effective learning sessions Support children during breaks, lunch periods, and outdoor activities to ensure their safety and well-being Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to promote understanding of each child's individual needs Observe and report on children's progress, behaviour, and any concerns to the teaching staff

Skills



Experience working with children in educational or care settings is highly desirable Knowledge of special education practices and experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is advantageous Ability to work effectively with people with autism or other developmental conditions Strong communication skills to interact confidently with children, parents, and colleagues Experience in toddler care or early childhood education is a plus Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude towards children of all abilities Organised and proactive approach to supporting classroom activities and individual needs
