8:30am - 4:00pm

We're working with an exceptional co-educational

secondary special school in Haringey

, which supports up to 175 students with a wide range of complex learning needs - including

autism (ASD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), physical disabilities, and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) challenges

.

This school offers a rich, supportive learning environment tailored to meet the diverse cognitive, emotional, and sensory profiles of each pupil. With two-thirds of the students diagnosed with autism, the setting is highly structured and collaborative.

We're seeking a compassionate and reliable

SEND Teaching Assistant

to join the team and provide targeted support across Key Stages 3-5.

Your Role



Deliver 1:1 and small group support to students with ASD, SLD, and/or SEMH Use structured routines, visual aids, and sensory regulation tools to support engagement Help pupils develop independence and self-regulation strategies Support access to learning and differentiated tasks Assist with personal care or physical support needs when required Work closely with teachers, therapists, and school staff to create a consistent, nurturing environment

Ideal Candidate



Experience in SEND settings or supporting learners with autism, SLD, or SEMH Comfortable with emotional regulation techniques and de-escalation Familiarity with PECS, Makaton, or sensory integration tools (desirable) Physically fit and prepared to support students with mobility needs if required Resilient, patient, and adaptable
